Michael Fitzmaurice (politician)
Michael Fitzmaurice is an Irish Independent politician for Roscommon–South Leitrim, who was elected as a Teachta Dála (TD) at the 2014 Roscommon–South Leitrim by-election.
Fitzmaurice, who runs an agricultural and turf contracting business,〔http://www.farmersjournal.ie/my-farming-week-michael-fitzmaurice-williamstown-co-galway-167054/〕 is the chair of the Turf Cutters and Contractors Association.
He was elected to Galway County Council for the Tuam area at the 2014 local elections.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Michael Fitzmaurice )〕 He entered national politics in a by-election caused by the election of Luke 'Ming' Flanagan to the European Parliament. He was endorsed by Flanagan.
He is a founder member of the Independent Alliance.
